I have more Kjaer Weis for you! This time it’s the lip tints. If you want to see the swatches of the shades Rapture, Beloved and Amazed go here: Kjaer Weis Lip Tints Swatches – Rapture, Beloved and Amazed
The website states these lip colours are:
Infused with nourishing shea butter, keeping lips moisturized and youthful looking
Certified Organic: Of the agriculturally derived ingredients in this product, a minimum 95% comes from organic farming.
*(Disclaimer: The colors Romance, Sweetness, Sensuous Plum, Passionate, Bliss Full, Lover’s Choice, Amazed, Rapture, and Beloved use the same formulation as other Kjaer Weis Lip Tints, but also contain small amounts of artificial pigment and are thus not certified organic. The stringent standards of the CCPB will not certify these colors, but the good news is these artificial pigments account for less than 1% of the total product formula. The remaining 99% of our non-certified products still contain the cleanest, most luxurious organic and natural elements found on the market.)
The ingredients on the packaging differ from the ingredients listed on the website, so I’m not sure which is true. If you are avoiding carmine, then it might be best to confirm whether this actually does include it or not

$49.00 US for the refillable compact and 0.085oz or 2.4g. of the product. The refills alone sell for $29.00 US. You can buy in Australia for $74.95 AUS for both, or $44.95 AUS for each refill.
The rectangle compact, with sharp edges and one corner sliced off, fits in the palm of my hand. It is made of heavy silver (heavier than the lipstick) which has both the brand name and logo engraved on the front. You will find the shade name and more information on the back.
The top portion slides off to reveal the pan of product underneath. It has a mechanism that allows it to spring shut as you close it. There is a pin hole on the bottom, so you can push the tip of a pen into it and it will lift off the pan that is held down by a magnet.
The refill comes in a thick cardboard casing. You pull back the tab and the pan is inside.
The lemon peel oil is slightly sweet but it’s not offensive at all. It also doesn’t linger.
It feels quite thin between my fingers, with not heaps of slip or an oily feeling.
You can apply with your fingers, but for me that depends on whether mine are clean or not. I have found that it applies best with your finger, because you need to rub the pan a little for it to warm up. It also means that it gives your lips a little flush of colour, that can be built up. For more definition and more opacity you could apply with a lip brush. I will probably use my own little trusty spatula.
Blissful can be sheered out to a barely there tint and can be built up to a light, barely medium opacity. Romance on the other hand is very bright and while it can be sheered out to a light coverage, it starts more at medium and can also be applied to a high medium coverage.
Colours Purchased: Romance and Blissful
This vibrant, reddish-pink color instantly lights up the face
I don’t find much red in this and it works much better (in my opinion) being patted and worked into your lips, sort of like you would a blush. The more you add, the shade intensity grows to neon and then it starts to look a bit garish. With one layer the finish is more satin. It’s not drying but in no way does it feel like a thick balm. There’s hardly any slip. The more you add, you’ll find that it will feel a little more slick but nothing like a creamy lipstick.
Formulated for sheer coverage; a modern take on the classic, rosy pink
This is a cool toned pink that only looks odd on my skin tone when I layer it too much. Even though it’s a cool pink, I actually love it applied sparingly. It gives me a really innocent flush of colour that looks really youthful. Since I don’t like it applied too heavily, I need to make sure my lips are either in good condition or wear a balm underneath. It isn’t emollient enough to cover dry patches or cracks.
- Packaging is second to none
- Strong pigment in Romance
- I like the effect it gives your lips (soft hint of colour that is different to a proper lipstick)
- Does not feel heavy, tacky or too slick
- Very expensive for a small amount of product
- Not completely unscented
- Not vegan
- Not all shades are carmine free
- Not handbag friendly
- Not emollient enough for very dry lips
While the packaging is gorgeous, and great for travel, I wouldn’t want to take it travelling out of fear that it would end up scratched. It’s one of those: it looks too good to use items, and it will likely stay on my makeup table. I still keep it in it’s box (just to make sure I don’t accidentally drop it).
I also found that you really do need to apply with your fingers. The product warms up and spreads much better with the warmth from your fingers. I also happen to think they look better when worked into your lips (almost like a blush for lips), rather than loading up your lips.
A major problem I have, is the price for the amount of product. The pans look tiny and really you’ll go through it so quickly if you’re wearing it every day, even with the minimal amount you need.
I think that if there are colours you absolutely must have then of course! Splurge and treat yourself. They look beautiful. For me though, the price (especially in Australian dollars) makes it hard to justify continually buying them.
