This week on Gone Swatching xo, I have some lipsticks from Nu Evolution.
This brand have an extensive range, focusing on formulas that are clean but rival more conventional brands.
Their range includes quite a large array of lipstick shades to try and I was fortunate enough to be able purchase samples of all of them. So keep an eye out in the next few weeks because I’ll be swatching all of them for you.
You can find the other shades of this line here:
Our lipsticks are richly pigmented & formulated with a nourishing blend of Castor Oil, Sun Flower Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Jojoba Oil & Vitamine E.
They don’t have organic certification overall, but they do commit to creating formulas without many questionable ingredients. They expire 12 months after opening and cost $30.00 USD or $46.50 AUD for 4.5g.
A pure black bullet, with rounded edges and a very satisfying click when you close it.
There’s hardly any scent, even though it has vanilla fragrance. It feels light, creamy and has quite the slip. It’s not heavy at all. The formula is smooth feels comfortably moisturising, just like a balm. I found it ended up on my teeth a lot, so you’d definitely have to do the finger trick to remove any excess.
Apply straight from the bullet to get the full effect. All of these shades started with medium opacity and then with a second layer were close to completely covering the natural colour of my lips. They were a tiny bit patchy, so I had to be a little careful to make it even.
Sassy, Allure & Delish
Flirty matte pink lipstick that looks delicate but delivers attitude.
This suits being applied lightly and heavily. When it was applied lightly it caught a little on my dry patches but I do like the way it looks better. Next time I’ll have to give my lips a proper scrub. Applying it heavily though completely changes the look and it’s most definitely not matte, unless you blot off the shine.
The perfect shade of “NUDE”. Trust us…. You won’t be disappointed!
Allure looks much warmer on their website but on me looks like a cool, pink nude. I don’t hate it. It has enough pigment to not swatch pale on me, but I do feel that there are other nude lipsticks I’ve tried and preferred.
Make everyone stare at you with this ‘Delish’ Pink with a hint of coral
I’m sure you could apply this without such a heavy hand because whew! It is such a neon, hot pink! Now I don’t see any hint of coral in this especially because when it wears down it stains the same as one of those pink iceblocks. That stain by the way .. it stays put with vengence.
- The pigments and opacity are great
- Nice and simple packaging
- Good ingredients – no dyes
- Very moisturising
- Scent is undetectable for me
- It slips around a little too easily
- Not completely vegan
- Expensive for my fellow Australians
I’m glad that the one I purchased a full size of, is the one I like the most. All these shades though are quite wearable and still deliver quite the impact if you apply them heavily. The one slight downside though is that out of all these lipsticks I’ve tried it ended up on my teeth very quickly and easily. It’s not a huge problem though, just maybe a lipstick that requires more care than a quick application.
