Ere Perez were one of the first brands I started with and I’m always excited to see what new offerings they have. They started with a small range and went from strength to strength, now stocking a full skincare range along side a comprehensive makeup range. I’ve been wanting a lighter skin tint for a while now and I was always curious about their new blush range as I loved their first one!

Quinoa Water Foundation in Haze & Dawn / $52.00 AUD for 30ml/1oz

First up is the Quinoa Water foundation. It’s a water based liquid, with a light texture, sheer coverage and a matte finish. I chose the shades Haze and Dawn based off their model photos, though I really wish they had a description of the shades too. They’re currently selling out of their remaining stock at half off as they’re discontinuing it.
Ingredients

I have mixed feelings about the Quinoa Water Foundation. First of all both colours aren’t really a close enough match. Haze is too light and while Dawn is closer the undertone is odd. It looks orange on my skin. Here’s the main problem. One drop of this is sheer and the colour match doesn’t matter so much. Any more than that though and it’s too obvious. I tend to like a little more coverage on my red cheeks and under eye bags so even two drops don’t work.

Now onto my next issue. This liquid foundation is just so quick drying. It feels like spreading water and dries down to a matte finish. It’s so quick it’s better to apply like a moisturiser. Don’t even try to dot it on and then blend! If I prep my skin with oil serums I have slightly more time to blend but then it doesn’t dry down to the nice matte finish. I can’t even do one drop for a section of my face because if I mess up and miss blending anything, it’s set and won’t blend anymore.

I really wish this formula was easier to apply. For days that I want light coverage, with a beautiful matte finish, this would be perfect. For now, I’m slowly using up Haze by adding a drop or two into another liquid foundation I have. Sadly, Dawn is going to stay unused until I figure something out.
Tapioca Cheek Colour in Paris / $46.00 AUD for 6.5g/0.23 oz or $30.00 AUD for the single refill pan.

I also purchased a Tapioca Cheek colour in Paris, as the original Ere Perez blush was one of my all time favourites. It’s a pressed powder, with buildable coverage.
Ingredients

I would have loved this new formula if it was the perfect replacement. Firstly, the colour is a lovely soft rosy pink without noticeable shimmer. I also like the finish on my skin. It helps to make my cheeks looks smoother, with a soft pop of colour. Don’t worry though, you can definitely layer it without it getting patchy. I have to use a light hand though as it can quickly build up a darker than I prefer. I do wish the colour was slightly more nude and lighter but it’s still a nice blush.

Final Word
I’ve always liked the blush from Ere Perez, so I’m glad that they offer a full pan of single colour. I loved the lighter pink in the original blush, however the darker side was unusable. I don’t know if their new formulas addressed this issue. As already mentioned, I’m not in love with the Quinoa Water Foundation. It’s not the easy, breezy product I thought it would be, so it only has a limited place in my makeup collection. If you are interested in it, it’s best to have a look before they sell out.
