Expiration:
I didn’t purchase full size products so I can’t be sure.
Pricing:
$24.95 AUS for 3.0g or 0.10oz
Packaging:
The tasting plate is presented beautifully on a card, with each of the samples protected by a plastic slip. You peel it off and then take the product either with your finger or a brush. I use my little spatula. You also get a code for $5.00 discount on your next full price purchase.
Scent:
So unfortunately because all the colours are together, they all pretty much end up smelling the same. Strong and very fragrant of citrus. The cinnamon is very dominant and so is the sweetness.
Texture:
They are all very, very creamy and soft, exactly like a good balm should be. When you layer with more it will also have a very glossy finish.
Application:
For the full size product there would be absolutely no problem applying straight from the bullet as the product is soft and also sheer. There’s not much risk of making a mess.
Opacity:
Sheer to light – medium coverage. None of these are completely opaque but Rose Lime, Tea Rose and Pink Juniper all have enough pigment to show up when you apply heavier.
Swatches:
Nude Cinnamon, Rose Lime, Pink Juniper & Tea Rose
Nude Cinnamon
Nude
For me, the cinnamon oil is overpowering. It makes me feel like I’ve walked into a bakery. For those that aren’t bothered, then you should enjoy the texture. It feels very balmy with a good amount of slip from the waxes. There is hardly any detectable colour and it really just makes my lips looks glossy and full.
Rose Lime
Sheer Rose Pecan
Thankfully the scent in this is a lot lighter. I get a hint of citrus and sweetness but it goes away really quick. The colour is a ‘My Lips but Better and Glossy’ and it feels nourishing. There is obvious shimmer in it but it doesn’t stand out once it’s on. This one will build up to a light, barely medium coverage
Pink Juniper
Dusky Pink
I honestly think that I can detect a tiny bit of vanilla in this fragrance but again it’s a lot lighter than the cinnamon oil and doesn’t linger. This swatches a little pastel on me, which tells me it’s too light. The shimmer is unnoticeable on your lips. Since it’s too light, it sit on top of my lips, but again the product feels great and smooth.
Tea Rose
Deep Dusty Rose Pink
The peppermint oil is light and fresh and I also think it makes the product feel a little cooling on my lips. I can’t tell much difference between this shade and Rose Lime, other than their scents. They both make my lips look fuller, glossier while being excellent matches to my actual lip colour.
PROS:
- Formula is great for those who need moisturising lip products and who don’t like matte finishes
- Ingredients are good
- Sheer, everyday colours
- Feels like a balm
- Free of carmine and dyes
- There are a few great shades to achieve that effortless, ‘My Lips but Better’ look
CONS:
- Not vegan
- Fragrance is very strong for me
- Not an opaque lipstick
- Some shades are carmine free
Final Word:
So I must admit, I’ve been looking for the shades Rose Lime and Tea Rose for ages. They compliment me so well, without looking like I’m wearing lipstick. I just don’t like the smell of essential oils. Of course this is purely personal choice and I don’t disagree with using them, I just prefer everything to be unscented. If you are not bothered by scented products and are not committed to being completely vegan, then I think they are a beautiful lip product. They’re especially great for anyone who wants to have glossy lips that are well moisturised, without looking overly made up.

It is nice but didn’t realise there was different grading in it like barely there sheer & buildable

The best part is the balmy texture, but also they’re low maintenance. Definitely not an opaque lipstick though!
