The Fruit Pigmented Water Foundation is just one of the many foundation options 100% Pure offer.

They are described as:

‘Sheer, healthy, hydrating makeup evens skin tone and conceals imperfections. Gives you a flawless complexion while making you look like you’re not wearing any makeup at all. Concentrated with anti-aging red wine resveratrol and alpha lipoic acid. Infused with skin soothing calendula, aloe and green tea.’

They have ingredients that are certified organic, but the company on the whole does not have an official certification. Even though it’s in an airless, glass bottle with a pump this only lasts 6 months after opening.

Ingredients:

Please take note of Lonicera Caprifolium (Japanese Honeysuckle)*.  This acts as a paraben (preservative). There is not enough research into this ingredient and it’s long term effects. It is naturally derived, yet still is chemically identical to its synthetic counterpart.

The glass bottle feels sturdy and of high quality. On the top is a silver pump, so you can keep it fresh and minimize contact with air. All the information, including brand and ingredients are printed on the outside, while the shade name is on the bottom.

It’s a smooth & thin consistency but not watery. It’s very wet to the touch and does not dry matte. The scent it not strong. I don’t have an accurate description, but it smells fresh.

You can use your fingers with this one. I always prefer to buff in with a brush, but as it doesn’t dry matte and the coverage is sheer, you don’t need it to be perfect.

It says sheer in the title, so it’s true to the label. Unfortunately it doesn’t build up to increase the coverage. I just felt that I was rubbing away any coverage that I had achieved.

Creme & Golden Peach

Creme

Creme is a light tan colour, that has a warm undertone. On it’s own it’s too light for me. I didn’t rub in the swatch on the right completely otherwise the coverage almost completely disappears.

Golden Peach 

Golden Peach is a medium tan, that is quite a bit warmer and browner than Creme. I mix the two together as I feel this one is slighter too dark for my winter skin. It would probably be perfect for summer

PROS:

• Dewy finish
• Perfect for extremely dry skin
• This is a forgiving foundation as it does not cling to dry patches
• Will leave you feeling moisturized and supple
• Easy to apply
• No strong scent
• No heavy, cakey coverage
• Light and easy to apply if you don’t need a lot of coverage

CONS:

• Not for oily skin
• It’s sheerness can also be problematic for those who need it
• Does not dry down at all
• Can leave you feeling oily
• No oil control at all
• Use of Lonicera Caprifolium (Japanese Honeysuckle) may be a deterrent for some
• Probably not the best for summer for any skin type

Final word:

I bought this for winter, as my skin was really suffering and my mineral foundation wasn’t forgiving on the dry patches. That was my own fault though, because I wasn’t taking care of it and I let it become dry.

When I used it for a few days, the tinted foundation applied well on dry patches, without accentuating them. This is because the formula is so forgiving and moisturizing. Unfortunately I ended up extremely shiny. So shiny, I looked wet. No amount of powder or blotting corrected it and I don’t like having to touch up during the day.

Now that my skin is much better, I can’t use this as my own oils come through immediately. I can put it on, finish the rest of my makeup and then be already be slick. To me, this doesn’t feel like a no makeup look, because I clearly have something on my face. The biggest problem is that it doesn’t even out my complexion. I also ended up with a bad break out after using this.

If you need a more forgiving foundation, to glide over dry patches, then this could work for you. Keep in mind the coverage is minimal and it doesn’t build up. A better use, would be to use it sparingly as a primer for dry skin, and then layer a matte foundation over the top.
