Even though I do enjoy trying new skincare, most of my core routine stays the same. I have a favourite elixir and balm from Lepaar, a go to face balm from Earthwise Beauty and the best cleanser from Acure.
In the last few weeks though, with the dryness of winter and trying new products my skin has decided it’s unhappy and some annoying pimples have popped up! I liked the idea of using a spot treatment, to minimize my entire face being exposed to ingredients that are a little stronger.
I haven’t used a targeted pimple treatment since I was a teenager and my pimples seem to appear more from congestion than any other reason. I’ve seen Tata Harper everywhere so I thought I’d give their clarifying spot solution a try.
Clarifying Spot Solution
Ingredients
This solution is a more of a paste. You can’t apply too much otherwise it sits on the skin. You also can’t rub it in, otherwise it pills. All you need is a touch of product, patted on any spots. Due to it’s texture I’ve never tried it under makeup, because once it’s dry, if I rub at it, it just flakes off. I can’t see it standing up to foundation application.
While it doesn’t smell offensive to me, there’s something in this that irritates my skin. The first few times I used it, morning and night, it was fine. After just a few days though, it makes my face itchy, not red or anything but I can definitely feel it on there. I used it on a white head and it disappeared the next day, but other pimples like the under the skin ones, it doesn’t seem to affect them much.
Final Word
I’m a little undecided on this one. It worked amazingly well on white head pimples. Unfortunately nothing much happens when it comes to under the skin pimples, or the ones I have the real issues with, small congestion pimples. The more I use it though, the less my skin seems to tolerate it and the itchiness doesn’t seem worth it now.
