I was so lucky to win these goodies in a giveaway One Fine Secret runs on their Instgram. They are one of the few green and clean beauty stores in Melbourne, so if you’re ever in the CBD, I’d highly recommend popping in the see their gorgeous store. Kayla and John are both really lovely, and always ready to answer any questions you might have or if you just want to chat!
As I said in my previous post, Vapour have just revamped their entire line, but some online stores will still have these in stock. I’ve already taken theses photos, I might as well still post these for anyone wanting to snap up the old formula before it’s gone!
Artist Multi-Use Palette Flame
Aura Classic Blush in Spark, Siren Lipstick in Hint & Velvet gloss in Nectar
Ingredients:
*Eco–Cert
NOT VEGAN These shades contains carmine
This palette is surprisingly small, but with 11.9g in total, it should be enough to keep going for a while, if you use it for subtle touch ups. In Australia this retails for $66.00 AUD, so it’s a bit up there! For the U.S. I can find it selling for $46.00 USD.
All of the shades are super sheer. This makes the little brush they include pretty handy, it actually picks up a lot more product than your fingers alone. Still I did have to apply quite a few layers for the colours to show up. I have to say, I absolutely love the collection of warm colours. They’re almost perfectly tailered to my tastes!
Swatches
Aura Classic Blush in Spark
Even though they say this is a blush, I took photos of it on my lips as well, to show the colour better. A very soft, baby pink that isn’t too light or shimmery. I’ll have a picture of it on my cheeks as well, but it doesn’t show up as well. This formula is really nice for cheeks. It feels creamy, but the finish is a touch powdery so it won’t make you feel too oily. It blends beautifully as well over my Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation. I also don’t mind it on my lips, because I prefer soft hints of colour, without wearing lipstick or gloss that my hair can potentially stick too. For some people I can see it feeling a little dry though, so you might need a balm or a touch of gloss if you want it to feel comfortable on dry lips. I believe this shade still appears as an updated formula in the Aura Multi Stick range (they may have also tweaked the colour).
Siren Lipstick in Hint
This lipstick feels balmy and smooth on the lips, but you will need quite a few layers to have it at this opacity, otherwise it could be a really nice lip tint. The pigment stains really well, so you’ll be left with colour even after the balm has worn away. The microshimmer isn’t noticeable either, which is always good!
Velvet gloss in Nectar
The nice thing about this balm is that it doesn’t feel tacky, or too slick, but it is glossier than the Siren Lipstick. If I had to pick a favourite shade, it would be this one. Again you will have to apply a few layers (and press a little hard into the palette) but once it’s on the pigment from this also stains a little.
Aura Multi-Use Blush in Eros
Ingredients
I received a sample pot of the Aura Multi-Use blush in the shade Eros. It’s about 2.8g, so a decent amount! I believe they’re keeping this shade in the rotation, it’ll just be repackaged as Aura Multi Stick (don’t hold me to that though!)
Swatches
This shade surprised me because it looks like a light, pastel baby pink in the pot, but it swatches quite a bit darker than that. I definitely don’t mind that since pastels look awful on me, but I guess it’s just something to be mindful of. The blush is so easy to blend, without moving my foundation underneath or looking blotchy!
These remind me a little of the Kjaer Weis Cream blush, with that slightly powdery feel on the lips but I’ve definitely learned that if I want colour, without it being too high maintenance, then that’s the way to go!
Final Word:
I adore the colours in the palette. I like that these are full proof, but the palette is a little disappointing in terms of colour payoff. I don’t mean that there’s nothing there. It’s more so in the sense that if you want pigment, you’ll have to spend some time layering it. I know some mornings I need to be quicker! It is super small though, so brilliant if you need to throw it in your bag for quick touch ups to brighten any look. The pick for me are the blushes, since they are so blendable, smooth and wearable. I just wish they’d kept some of their carmine free shades so I could try their new lipsticks.
