So if you’ve made it here, you’re interested in knowing more about me.
I was born in Thailand and since the age of 4, I have grown up in Australia. I’m currently living just out of Melbourne. For the last few years though, I have had the strongest desire to return to Thailand. The idea of escaping Melbourne winters is so enticing to me.
I have light brown skin, with a noticeable yellow undertone. I stay out of the sun to avoid tanning. If I do happen to be exposed to the sun, I tan very easily and can turn quite dark.
In summer my skin is so oily, I can apply my foundation and then by the time it takes me to apply the rest of my makeup, I’m shiny. It suffers in winter, dry patches appear around my lips and cheeks, while my t-zone stays oily. I normally wear mineral foundation as it helps mattify my skin. It’s only sheer to medium coverage, but that tends to be enough to cancel out the redness on my cheeks.
For reference, Gressa Minimalist Foundation in 3.5 suits me best.
I have also matched myself to 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Water Foundation in Golden Peach and Alima Pure in Warm 4, Nu Evolution 107 and Fit-Glow 3.5.
My lips are quite darkly pigmented. They can dry out very easily and I do find that lipsticks can catch on the dry patches. I never wear matte nudes as they appear pale and wash me out. I also find that many colours pull pinker on me than they appear in the bullet or container.
This experiment is as much for me as it is offer swatches on a medium skin tone. While I’m always looking for that perfect nude, I want to experiment. I never wear bright bold colours. Not only will I pick colours that I hope I will like, I will also pick ones that I would never wear and know would not suit me.
Ideally I’d love to be able to show you every colour from a range but one can only dream. If there’s a particular shade you desperately want me to try, I’ll try to make it happen.
Wish me luck!
Hi,
I stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago and I just wanted to you that you’re doing an amazing job. I love your purpose for blogging, how honest you are about the products, and the fact that you don’t airbrush your pictures.
I am Korean with tan skin, grew up in Australia (now live in Norway) and love “clean”, carmine-free makeup. I can’t you how helpful your blog is.
Hope you keep up your great work.
Best regards,
Jay
