These mascaras have actually been my staples for a few years now. I had previously been using the Ere Perez ones but they turned my lashes a bit too stiff. I thought I might as well write up a review of these while I still have them. I think it might be time to switch things up! If anyone has any good mascara recommendations, comment below!
Stellar Gaze Length & Strength Mineral Mascara
Ingredients
The first few times I bought this, I preferred it to the Dream Big formula because it was lengthening, thickening and still held a curl. Maybe they’ve since changed the formula because this one is just so wet, the second I apply it the curl drops. I only wear mascara once my eyelashes are curled because it makes my lashes look incredible and if I lose that curl there’s no point to all that effort.
It works much better once the formula dries out a little and you can at least add more coats to thicken up your lashes. The issue for me though is that it clumps them together a bit. I need the separation not clumping!
Dream Big Lash Extending 7 in 1 Mascara
Ingredients
I have long lashes but I don’t have thick or many lashes. Normally I’d prefer a thickening mascara but I actually love the effect this gives. One coat keeps my lashes lifted and curled all day, while lengthening them and keeping them looking like false wispy lashes.
It’s perfect for every day wear and it also lasts all day on me. When I layer more than two it starts to flake and look a little clumpy. If you want full on lashes then it’s probably not the best choice but I love the wispy look.
They claim the adjustable brush can change application but I never use the different wands. To be honest I think it’s a gimmick and unnecessary as it doesn’t make a difference. I always leave it at the lengthening mode. This wand suits me better as it’s long and thin, with plastic spikes rather than a traditional mascara wand. Buy this for the formula if your lashes need the lengthening and you’re looking for lightweight colour.
Final Word
I’ve been using these mascaras for years (not the same tubes of course!). I think if you like fluffy, light and wispy looking eyelashes, then the Dream Big mascara is perfect because it lengthens, darkens and holds a curl without smudging for a whole day. Just don’t expect to layer up to thicken your lashes otherwise it clumps. The Stellar Gaze has become better as it dries, but I still prefer the Dream big formula. I am looking forward to testing some new clean mascaras though, so I really want to hear if there’s any that you think I’d like!
