This Christmas will be a scorcher in Melbourne so I don’t want makeup that I have to fuss over. Here is a quick and easy look that will make you look effortlessly put together. Less time spent on makeup, means more time you can enjoy the day with your friends and family!
I have also planned this makeup with the weather in mind. I don’t want to be touching it up all day and I already know that I want to keep it light so it doesn’t melt in the heat.
The Gressa Minimalist Serum Foundation is my trusty concealer. I buffed in a light layer under my eyes.
Hot weather is the best time to wear mineral makeup for me. It keeps my skin from becoming a mess far longer than a liquid or cream foundation. As I want it to last all day, and make my skin look clean I buffed two layers on, starting from the centre of my face and then taking it outwards.
I want to keep my eyes as minimal as possible. I patted a layer of this mineral eyeshadow over the top of my mobile lid.
To give them soft definition I worked a little of this taupe shadow into my crease, using light windscreen wiper motions.
To keep the definition as soft as possible, I took a little of this pitch black mineral eyeshadow onto the tip of the Bdellium 762. I then pressed it very carefully into my lash line and also my top water line.
I did define my brows quite darkly with these two shades of mineral eyeshadow. While I used the darker one on the lower portion of my eyebrow, I still like to use the lighter one on the top, to keep it from looking too drawn on. I also brushed them through.
A quick curl and two coats of mascara are all I want to finish framing my eyes.
I kept the application of bronzer very light, sweeping it over my cheeks, outer perimeters of my forehead and along my jawline.
Blush was also kept to a minimum. I’ll likely be quite flushed during the day anyway.
As I am quite oily naturally, I used the Real Techniques Blush brush to give me a very soft, diffused high light. The gold in this palette has been my go to since the shimmer is not chunky. My cheeks get very oily, so I don’t want it to be too strong.
Lipstick is the first thing that will go on Christmas day as you’ll eating, drinking and talking non-stop. Best way around the maintenance? Take some product off the bullet with your finger and smudge it on your lips. You’re intentionally not defining your lips and the effect looks similar as to how it will inevitably fade by the end of the celebrations.
I tapped a little extra on the centre of my lips and that’s it. Done.
