Nektar Botanicals Review

I’ve been trialing some products from Nektar Botanicals and this week I’ve been able to put together my review for them.

The scent of this is so light and dainty, it’s one of the few scented products I actually enjoy. The mix of oil itself is very nice because it’s so nourishing. I was putting it on at night time and then waking up with beautifully soft skin. It took me a while to realise there’s a gemstone in there, but I think it adds a nice touch.

Hibiscus Antioxidant Glow Mask

Nektar Botanicals Review - Gone Swatching xo

Ingredients:

Rhassoul clay, rose clay, white clay,, +hibiscus flower powder, +goji berry powder, +camu camu powder, +rose petal powder, +raw cacao, +marshmallow root powder, +vanilla bean powder, +non-phototoxic bergamot oil, ylang ylang oil

+ organic

I love the smell of this because of the cacao. I haven’t used it regularly enough to notice any brightening. The reason I haven’t developed a routine with it, is because it breaks me out, with white heads. I haven’t researched enough about face masks and detoxing but because I’ve been struggling so much with my skin, the last thing I want is more pimples. I think I’ll leave this for a little bit and try again.

Cucumber Rosehip Enzyme Cleansing Oil

+ Organic

The pumpkin seed oil has a very distinct smell. There is something in here that feels sticky. It makes it really hard to wash off. Even though they say rinse off with warm water, I definitely would recommend using a face cloth to wipe away the excess. This breaks me out unfortunately and I didn’t find it was any better than using pure jojoba oil to oil cleanse. In fact, I prefer using pure jojoba oil, which is what I’ll go back to.

Black Tourmaline Detox Mask

Nektar Botanicals Review - Gone Swatching xo

Ingredients:

Cambrian Blue Clay, Rhassoul Clay, +Spirulina, Activated Charcoal, Black Tourmaline, +Dandelion Root, +Burdock Root, Wildcrafted Chaga Mushroom, +White Willow Bark, +Mandarin Oil, +Palmarosa Oil, +Frankincense Oil

+ Organic

This mask is incredible in the way that it’s so drawing on the skin, but I find that it makes my blocked pores even worse and again my skin has that issue with detoxing. It brings out more white heads in my skin than the Hibiscus Antioxidant Glow Mask. I do want to try it again, but I’m a little hesitant to try this one as it’s very strong.

Yuzu Citrus + Matcha Revitalizing Body Polish

The scent of this is so fresh and invigorating, without being too cloying. The inclusion of oils and mango butter makes the product so nourishing that when you wash off the sugar my legs still feel moisturised. I really enjoy this, so this is another one I’d repurchase.

Final Word:

I’m still discovering what works for my skin and what I can’t use so while I’d love to be able to use the face masks up completely, I actually feel that they make my skin worse. I don’t know. Maybe I need to stick out the detox period. Or maybe I’m better off without them. My favourites from this collection are the Mandarin Citrine Body Oil and the Yuzu Citrus + Matcha Revitalizing Body Polish. Until I can try the face masks again and have different results I don’t feel the need for them.
