Wabi-Sabi Botanicals Skincare Review – The Giver, Still Waters & Valley of Light

I’m a huge fan of Wabi-Sabi Botanicals, particularly their Light Reveal formule intensif. I’m still using that, which I bought back in May last year! Knowing that my money is going to worthy causes and supporting communities is amazing as well.

I bought a few more of their new releases and have been testing them since December, so I have a good sense of how they’re working for me.

Oh my! This has the most delicious scent of coffee, with a hint of chocolate that makes it so enticing. I’ve been a convert to using an oil for cleansing for a while now and this is such a pleasure to use, I almost don’t want to wash it off. I always wipe this off with a wet, warm cloth and then do a second wash with my go to cleanser. My skin is always without a trace of makeup and absolutely no tightness.

It’s a shame that there is something in this that clogs my pores after using it consecutive nights. No worry though, I like to save this for those days I feel like I need an extra deep cleanse or I add a pump to my body lotion. It’s such a rich scent it’s hard not to want it slathered all over my body.

Still Waters – Soothing Ritual Facial Mist

The scent of this really caught me off guard because it’s not at all what you’d expect from the ingredients. I feel like I’m sniffing warm, fresh gingerbread with every spritz. I didn’t find this as effective as the toners from Okoko Cosmetiques, but it is designed more for soothing inflamed skin. I prefer using this as a makeup setting spray. It works really well if my makeup isn’t quite as well blended as it could be. It gives my skin an uplifting, hydrating boost.

Valley of Light – Illuminative Mask

This has a similar scent to The Giver. It’s amazing but at the same time not overpowering, which is good considering it’s a mask. I love that this doesn’t have any type of clay. Every clay mask I’ve ever used breaks me out and this much gentler.

I’ve also been using this as a exfoliant. The texture is soft enough to massage into your skin without any harsh granules scratching it.

Final Word

Out of these three, I would repurchase The Giver and Valley of Light again. They had me at the coffee and chocolate! The Giver feels and smells like a super luxurious oil cleanser, though I’d be happy to buy it in bulk and use it as an every day body oil. I am also so happy to have found a face mask without clay in it. I’ve always felt that I’m missing that step in my routine and now I can finally indulge!
