2018 was the first year I started enjoying skincare. I was so lazy before. My regime was 2 steps and I was lucky to do it consistently. Now it can take longer than my makeup routine and I have absolutely no issue with that!

This year I want to do some more posts on skincare because no matter how good your makeup is, it’ll only be as good as your skin. I’m so interested by the sheer amount of work it takes to formulate something that can have such a profound effect on not only your skin, your health and your confidence!

Acure Organics Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream

This is my go to cleanser, especially for when I need to remove any type of makeup. It starts off creamy and thick but ends up lathering extremely well for something with no sulfates. This happened to be my first step in my previous skincare routine and I’ve kept it because it’s so effective, without stripping my face.

Claribel Skincare Acne Control and Clarifying Cleanser and Acne Treatment Serum

So I consider my Acure cleanser as my prep for this cleanser. It is by far the MOST effective way to exfoliate my skin without using a harsh, mechanical exfoliator. Congestion has been my number one issue and this is the only thing that fixes it. Along with the Acne Treatment Serum it keeps my skin so clear and baby soft. Not to mention it works in days. DAYS! I had to have custom bottles made as I know they’ve tweaked the formula because it was too strong for most but the old one worked better for me. The owner of this company is so lovely too. She’s been nothing but amazing to deal with.

When I was using this in conjunction with a consistent skincare routine and their Sang du Dragon serum, my skin felt almost perfect. It was so amazingly soft and clear, bright and toned. If you don’t believe in toners, then I’d suggest investing in one like this … The ingredients are pure, effective with no watering down.

Wabi-Sabi Botanicals Light Reveal

The bright orange tone of this speaks to how it is brimming with nutrients. Don’t use too much or else the colour sits on top but really the tiniest amount is all I need to pat underneath my eyes. It works within a few days, lightening the under eye area like magic. All of the ingredients are sourced ethically and the owner funds women’s businesses through the KIVA program. Sustainable, ethical and conscious beauty all in one!

Lepaar Holistic Skincare Harmonising Rose Serum, Intensive Renew Night Elixir and Precious Face Elixir

The end of the year beat me before I could post my review on this brand but they’ve already won a permanent place in my routine. By far the BEST oils/serums I’ve used for a while! If you are conscious of what you choose to put on your skin, I’d highly recommend having a look at their range. Their ingredients are exemplary.
